new monogram bracelet and a sale

introducing the new monogram bracelet.  I'm in love.  its great on its own simple self.  lovely stacked with other favorite bracelets.  or as a set of two or three.  what do you think?

the entire bracelet is sterling silver so its only going to get better with age.  ever-so-slightly hand patina'd.  I love the details in this chain.  can you see them?

the entire monogram collection is on sale this week!  wouldn't this be a great mothers day gift?  enter cherish25 in the coupon code box before checkout.

*also I have been asked if this bracelet can have more than one charm.  what a great idea!  I am happy to accomodate this great idea.  email me if you are interested.

and how about free shipping too!

happy friday!

kirsty

a tale of tulle {what i wore}

inspired by some of my favorite bloggers that have been rocking the tulle skirt, like her and her. I couldn't resist.  I love tulle.  I was a little unsure what I would wear with it but once I started playing dress up, the outfits were endless.  expect a few more to come.

I think every girl no matter her age, needs a tutu.  and these earrings, milky turquoise chrysophase  beveled in sterling silver.  a match made in heaven.  expect the earrings very soon on Lucia K.

denim shirt - Trouve {from this clothing swap}
skirt - O2 Collection, Queen Anne Dispatch
sandals - Frye {old but sorta like these on sale}

week 28 . boston

this last week, we were in Boston. In fact, we were a block a way from where the first explosion hit. I'm still having quite a hard time wrapping my head around it all...and it makes the whole purpose of posting seem a bit trivial, when i consider the enormity of what some families are facing and the road of recovery and healing that Boston has ahead. I am beyond thankful that my husband had finished the race as fast as he did and we were clear from the blasts, but my heart aches for those that were so gravely impacted by the devastation.

i am doing my best to be thankful and full of fervor for the life we have! my husband did an amazing job and that is something to be celebrated as well.

I can't really recommend wearing this outfit, it was not that flattering for the growing belly, but that was definitely not the point for this occasion. My dear friend Renee was in town and completed our word "RUN" (my sister is the "N"). This was when we finally met up with Satch (and about 10 minutes or so before the bombing).  It is still very surreal. We all feel incapable of wrapping our mind and our words around it all.

Satch ran fast (2:56) which is 26.2 consecutive miles each mile only taking him 6 minutes and 44 seconds. I mean, I am so proud! He ran the Boston with Dana Farber Cancer Research in honor of my mom who lost her life to cancer in 2009. It was so special that he could run in memory of her and as my dad said "she would have been his biggest fan!"

{the earrings are LKJ tags, the leggings are target, along with the sweatshirt (both on sale) and the t-shirts were from target and I decorated with sharpie the night before the race}

praying for Boston and all the lives so heavily impacted!

the fine line of funky {what i wore}

I'm just done wearing my big winter coats.  but its still not warm.  when the sun is shining upon you, its momentarily glorious.  but then the chilly wind blows and the random dark storm clouds hide the sunshine.  so what I really wanted was a white tank and denim.  but I get pretty grouchy when I'm cold.  so I threw on my big sweater.  and I think it works.  I seriously have four shirts on in these pictures.

and my beloved earrings.  I love copper.  and these just work so well with so many of my outfits, dressed up or dressed down.  the faceted swarovski crystals catch the light in just the right way.  I love them.

fashion right now is so fun, it really is whatever you want it to be.  more than any other time that I can remember, a person can completely call their own shots on what is in style.  I love that street style and individuality is so prominent.

what flatters you, and what makes your feel most confident.

lately I have been on the hunt for the most unique pieces within my price range...but I don't want to be goofy.  these sunglasses are my newest trial.  I ordered two pairs, these, and ones that your typical large great looking shades. {should have taken a picture to compare.}

so what do you think, too funky?  or just right?  large and in charge and aviator?  can I pull them off...

tank - H&M {old}
denim shirt - Trouve, scored at the swap
sweater - Fietsvoor2, Anthropologie
jeans - Forever 21 {and now they have them in black.}
boots - Frye
sunglasses - Marc by Marc Jacobs

week 27 . april is showering

It's raining in Seattle today and it was raining yesterday and it will most likely be raining tomorrow (not that i'm complaining or anything...) All the rain does lead to all the green so we can't complain too much. Spring flowers can be found everywhere and it's not only refreshing, but a reminder of the resurgence of energy, creativity, overall good vibes that spring brings. Lucia K. creative juices are flowing and it makes me even more anxious for summer and all the fun, bright, functional that's in store for the next line. are you excited?

sweatshirt: asos maternity
tank: h&m
jeans: banana republic
rain boots: sorel rain
earrings: lucia k. turquoise (coming soon)

the hooded sweatshirt, the jeans with the extender, and the lucia k. turquoise earrings are becoming my go-to's for this rainy weather. I can stay comfortable, warm, and a little fashionable.

What are your go-to's for rainy PNW weather? and if you're blessed enough to be inundated with sunshine this spring, what are your go-to's for the change in weather? are you braving white pre memorial day? or maybe your bare legs underneath a new skirt? share share share! we love to be inspired by your style.

check back often for updates on Lucia K. launch dates for new jewelry!

was trying really hard to be good but then I spotted it from the checkout line...{what i wore}

so I have been trying to not shop lately.  and actually I was returning items, with nothing in my hands for myself, then I spotted this jean jacket strategically placed in my line of sight.  and well you can see what happened.  I justified it as a much necessary staple and have been wearing it almost everyday since.  this is the one I have been coveting, and have been borrowing and borrowing way too much from my very generous friend.

also, I've been having a really bad hair month.  I would say that my curls have their moments, but I am nervous that I am entering a new untamed phase.  it happens every so often.  {like post baby #2 when my hair thankfully stopped falling out and finally started to grow back, only in crazy ringlets around the base of my forehead that stuck straight up through the rest of my rather wavy {not curly} hair.  total muffasa stage.}

it could also be the rainy PNW spring weather.  so I have gotten very creative with scarves and hats.  this is some knit material that caught my eye at the fabric store.  1/4yd later, and its a wrap.

and linen pants.  we shall see.  super comfortable.  but actually pulled out the iron for this moment, and yet still a bit wrinkly.  my husband is definitely the iron-er in this relationship.  serious skills.

new summer earrings coming soon to Lucia K!  what do you think??  I am very excited about the new pieces.  These are emerald green onyx beveled in gold vermeil.  again, my hope is to have the ability to wear casually to add some interest to an outfit, or sparkle it up in that little black dress at a summer soiree.

coat - H&M
white shirt - kersh, Queen Anne Dispatch
pants - Level 99, Anthropologie
shoes - Dolce Vita
necklaces - Lucia K. Blake, and Faye Knotted Ball {my current combo of choice}
earrings - Lucia K. coming soon!

what 150lbs of rice looks like in your living room

a few months ago my littlest turned 3 and he reeeeeally wanted a construction party that he could invite his friends.  he actually had his friends picked out.  this is new to me.

and I reeeeeally wanted one of those giant balloons {that actually spent its first night in the car because it was too big to fit through our front door, and it was a wind storm.}

and so the story begins here.

 and then I found these straws.  and a big roll of caution tape.  and well the rest of the party just kind of snowballed.

the annual birthday garland made an appearance as well.

best idea of the day, using brown kraft paper as table cloths and piling everything on top = no serving platters to wash.  clean up {in the kitchen} was the easiest ever, and actually happened that night.  rare.

Ali designed all the paper products for me.  right?!  cupcakes were this fabulous recipe and so easy topped with crushed oreos for "dirt".

a little kraft table, you know for when you aren't flinging yourself into plastic balls or flinging rice acrossed the living room....  this is a fabulous website for coloring pages.  you can even customize them and create writing pages too.

best re-use of a pac-n-play.  My littlest received 200 plastic balls for his birthday.  imagine taking turns jumping off the couch.

our local Home Depot gave us kid-size aprons and diy birdhouse kits for everyone {so awesome of them}, add in construction hats.  and the gear is all set.

and then my friend helped me with the idea of digging for treasure in rice.  I bought 3 50lb bags of rice at Costco.  it was a lot more volume once the bags were opened than I had realized.  next time {as if} I would use a plastic pool instead of under bed bins.

the aftermath tracked through most of the main floor.  and dry rice on wood floors is very slippery.  actually a vacuum {if its working} can easily suck up all this rice.  or a nice thorough sweep of the floor, which has been needed for months now, also does the trick.

 and that is the tale of our crazy construction party.

the end.

one more thing.  do you know Birthday Dreams?  it is a non-profit that provides birthday parties for homeless or foster children who wouldn't otherwise have a party.  isn't that the best idea ever?  in the midst of this party that was so fun {and slightly over the top} to celebrate my 3yr old, it is also very grounding to me to realize the needs of others.  donating to them {in time or money} will also be a new piece of our celebrations going forward.

happy tuesday.

kirsty

week 26 . out on the town

Closing in on the 3rd trimester, pretty hard to swallow. We've been busy thinking and doing some making/purchasing for the nursery...but no visible progress in the actual room. This week we headed with some friends to see these guys in concert at the triple door, my favorite place to see a concert...you get to sit in Las Vegas style half moon booths, sip on great drinks (except not this time) and eat tasty food from Wild Ginger (a local favorite upscale Thai restaurant). It was a great night with great music and I felt comfortable in what I wore (a plus!)

top: Kavu (sale)
leggings: gap maternity
shoes: dsw (similar)
earrings: own

I kept the outfit pretty basic, but I was most impressed that my hair curled just how I wanted...for those of you that come from curls, you know this is a big victory. :)

enjoy the weekend...we'll be spending it in birthing classes (yipee!)

sometimes you feel it, sometimes you don't {what i wore}

I can't find my favorite orange lipstick.  I ran out of hairspray.  my 3yr old had a huuuuge tantrum.  so we stopped and rocked for a while.  its was therapeutic for us both.  and I really just wanted to stay put.  in my sweats.  this outfit is one that I choose when I can't just wear sweats, I can be pulled together but I don't have to try terribly hard.  and my inner Rachel Zoe will always love a good bell bottom and leopard platform.

and then my camera battery died.  which also happened on our first family trip to Disneyland.  you think I'd learn my lesson.

 sweater - Queen Anne Dispatch
tank top - Roxy {incredibly old}
jeans - 7 for all Mankind {old but similar}
shoes - Kelsi Dagger
bracelets - Lucia K. Chloe {and turquoise coming soon!}
watch {I adore it!}. sunglasses . bag
